In the early period after breast lift surgery, the breasts become too raised and firm. Breasts that soften over time and droop slightly achieve a more natural upturned appearance. Excessive weight gain or weight loss after surgery may cause sagging breasts. In order to prevent such situations, attention should be paid to weight control after surgery.
Again, experiencing a pregnancy process after breast lift surgery may also cause sagging due to the changes experienced during pregnancy and breastfeeding. For this reason, it is recommended that women who are planning a pregnancy postpone breast lift surgery to the post-pregnancy period.
In addition to all these, it is possible to see sagging breasts after breast lift surgery due to aging and the effect of gravity. However, these natural factors do not cause such serious changes that the appearance before the surgery will reappear.
What Should Be Done If The Breasts Sag Again After The Breast Lift Surgery?
People who will undergo breast lift surgery should first accept that after all stretching surgeries, loosening may be encountered over time. The tissues in the human body begin to lose their elasticity over the years, cannot resist the effect of gravity and become loose. Breast lift surgery reverses this process, allowing the breasts to regain their former appearance. However, it is not possible to stop the effect of time. For this reason, although the desired appearance is achieved with breast lift surgery, the tissues are again exposed to the effect of gravity over the years and enter the loosening process.
There are some factors that affect the sagging of the breasts after breast lift surgery. Sagging breasts is a three-dimensional phenomenon and the tissue sags as a whole. Therefore, a three-dimensional method should be used in the correction of the sagging tissue. The most effective method is to lift the breast tissue as a whole and to remove the loosened skin by surgical methods, thus it is possible to obtain the longest-lasting effect. If the patient’s skin is genetically thin and resistant, if it has cracks on it, it may be resistant. The skin quality is better if the skin is firm and strong. In this case, sagging occurs later. In addition, the load to be carried by the skin is also important in terms of sagging. In other words, the volume of the breast tissue determines whether sagging will occur again in the early period after the operation. In cases where the skin is weak, the load it will carry can be reduced and the breast tissue can be reduced so that the result obtained is longer lasting.
The age at which the operation was performed and the lifestyle of the person after the operation are also very important. People who had breast lift surgery in their twenties may need to have a new breast lift surgery in their forties or fifties. Since the breast tissue will naturally deform in people who become pregnant and breastfeeding after breast lift surgery, a need for a reconstructive procedure may occur. If there is excess weight gain and weight loss after the surgery, breast lift surgery may be required since deformation may occur in the breast tissues.
If the breast lift surgery is performed after the birth and when a pregnancy is not planned again, in the late thirties or early forties, there is probably no need for a new breast lift surgery.
Things to Know About Breast Lift Surgery
As time progresses, there is a loss of elasticity in the skin and connective tissues in the breasts due to pregnancy, breastfeeding, gravity, and genetic factors. As a result, deformities occur in the breast. The breast softens and begins to sag. Breast lift surgery, which is a surgical procedure in which the excess skin on the breast is removed and the breast tissue inside is shaped, can be an effective solution in order to reshape, lift and revitalize sagging breasts.
Breast lift aesthetic surgery can be applied to people who have sagging and excess skin in their breasts. Some patients may wish to have a breast lift after dramatic weight loss or bariatric surgery.
If women who are ideal candidates for breast lift surgery also want to increase the size and volume of their breasts, it is possible to apply breast augmentation surgery together with breast lift surgery. When determining the method to be applied in breast lift surgery, many factors such as the desired breast size, shape, firmness, current position of the nipple circumference, and elasticity of the skin should be considered. In breast lift surgery, a scar is formed around the nipple. However, according to the technique applied, a vertical scar is formed between the nipple and the breast fold line, and in some patients, a horizontal scar is also formed along the inframammary fold line.
After the incision is made in breast lift surgery, the underlying breast tissue is reshaped. The nipple circumference is placed in a natural and symmetrical position. In order for the sagging skin to have a younger and more beautiful appearance, excess skin is removed. Breast lift surgery, in which aesthetic sutures are used in a way that is not visible from the outside, is performed under general anesthesia. Following the doctor’s recommendations completely after the operation is the prerequisite for a fast and healthy recovery process.
